Look Both Ways History
Here is a poster we made a year and a half after LOOK BOTH WAYS was born. This is the first installment of the History of LOOK BOTH WAYS.
It was October 2004, when 3 of my friends and I, got together to have fun and make music. My 3 friends were Dave Pyle, and Joe and Victoria Hursh. Dave and I had been friends for almost 30 years, and I met Joe and Victoria through the Lakewood Kiwanis Club, 1-2 years earlier. Our Kiwanis Club had briefly put together a band of 9 Kiwanians who were musicians or singers and we ultimately performed 3 times for Kiwanis functions. We called ourselves the K band, and we would practice in the basement of our fearless band leader, Kelso Kelly. We were together for about 6 months, ultimately learned 13 songs and after our third gig, sadly we broke up. This gave me the bug to put a band together of my own, music was now in my blood. I don’t remember exactly how we decided to start making music together, but I sure am glad we did. We started practicing in my basement and for two practices we had a fifth member, Jeff Quinlan, who broke off after his second practice with us and started his own short lived band. Little by little, we started to learn some songs as a group, Dave played bass and sang, Victoria was our lead vocals, and Joe and I each played guitar. At this point we didn’t have a drummer or a keyboard player, but we were having fun. Stayed turned to hear about our first gig and how LOOK BOTH WAYS grew. #rockband#bandhistory#rockandroll See less
